Point Reyes National Seashore

August 2, 2015

I took Pongo to Point Reyes on Sunday.  He loves it there.  He can walk on the beach and we stop to look at cows.  Those are two of his favorite things.  Well, unless the cows look back at him.  He thinks that's a little scary.

We drove out to Drake's Beach.  Dogs aren't allowed on that beach but the views are nice on the short drive.  We stopped so I could take some pictures and I heard bugling from just over the rise.  We drove up to the top of the hill and sure enough we saw a herd of tule elk.  They were too far away for decent pictures even with my big new lens.

Next, we went to South Beach and took a leisurely stroll along the beach.  We walk close to the water so Pongo can run in and out as much as he wants.  He doesn't like to get too deep and he's on a leash, otherwise I'd be a little nervous about that.  Yeah, I'm a worrier.

After the beach, we drove around a bit more to look at cows and take pictures.  Then we headed home in time for Pongo to eat dinner with the rest of the dogs.  They all love their dinner routine.  My wife cooks for them twice a day.  Lucky dogs.

It wasn't a particularly exciting adventure, but it was a nice way to spend a quiet, relaxing afternoon by the Pacific.

    1. Yeah, Pongo is a great travelling companion. He's very patient when I take pictures.
